How to reply to individual messages in WhatsApp groups?

The title of this blog itself should suggest to you what this post is going to be all about. If you have been part of a WhatsApp group, you would know how it feels to be part constantly buzzing with activity. Even if you are not willing to be a part of the group, it would be rude to quit the group where almost everyone knows you. There is an option to mute the group and disable notifications. 

WhatsApp group is a necessity these days. Earlier, we used to crave a facility where we could message a group of people at the same time. Or, if we need to update a group of people, then the WhatsApp group is a good option. I am a part of several WhatsApp groups. We have a WhatsApp group of job seekers named Mumbai Testing group, an Office group called – Bloody Testers and a Family group with all family members named – Coolest Family Ever. A typical update can be shared with such groups.  Even my 14-year-old nephew is a part of a WhatsApp group, the official group for his school class.

What if the group is constantly pouring messages  and you miss some important message? Or if you want to reply to a person individually? The only way to reply to such an individual message is to  private message the person and ask for options. Now there is an alternate way to do so. Thanks to the new update from the WhatsApp Messenger. Download version 2.16.119 for this facility. 

Let us see how to do it. 

1. Go to a group.  In this example I will seek service from a group named – Friends Coffee House. 

2. Long press the message you want to reply to and click on the icon encircled in the screenshot below. For iOS, long press and click on the reply option. 

3. Write the message you want to reply to and click the send icon.

4. You could then see the message as displayed below.
